Open-source donor experience for Salesforce NPSP.

A donor-facing checkout, member portal, and events platform that syncs into Salesforce NPSP. Open source under AGPL-3.0 — host it yourself. Or fully managed by RevenuePoint, end-to-end, with observability, dunning, AI-suggested ask amounts, and the premium integration stack.

AGPL-3.0 · self-host or fully managed.

What's inside

Five components that ship on day one.

Everything a newsroom needs to take money online, keep donors engaged, and run events — on a Salesforce NPSP foundation.

Donor-facing
3-step donor-facing checkout

Inline progress, sticky summary rail, one-tap Apple/Google Pay, tribute gifts, cover-fees, UTM capture, URL pre-fill for amount / frequency / campaign.

Donor-facing
Magic-link member portal

No passwords. Gift history, recurring management, tribute history, receipt downloads, address and payment-method updates.

Donor-facing
Events + RSVP

Paid and free events, capacity limits, waitlists, attendee sync to NPSP campaign members.

Staff
Tribute gift flow

In-honor / in-memory dedications with notify-recipient email, captured as a related record on the gift.

Staff (managed)
Staff console

Managed-tier only. Tenant admin, integration health, donor search, bulk actions, and audit log across every transaction.

Both tiers get this

The donor stack, ready to run.

3-step donor-facing checkout

Amount → Info → Payment, with one-time / monthly / annual frequency, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH, tribute gifts, cover-fees math, and URL-param pre-fill (UTM + campaign + amount).

Member portal

Magic-link auth (no passwords), gift history, recurring management, tribute history, and receipt downloads. Portal donors manage themselves.

Events + RSVPs

Event pages, paid / free ticketing, RSVP capture, and attendance sync back into the NPSP campaign — no separate event platform.

Salesforce / NPSP sync

Donations, recurring gifts, contacts, and households flow into NPSP with proper relationship and soft-credit handling. Dedupe rules respected.

Plugin architecture

A stable `@npsp-middleware/plugin-api` surface lets you swap payment rails, add a CRM, or ship a custom integration without forking the core.

Open source vs Managed

Two tiers. Same core. Different lift.

Self-host when you have engineering capacity. Choose managed when donor-facing-checkout uptime and premium integrations matter more than running infrastructure.

Managed tier · Premium stack

What $6,000 per newsroom / year gets you.

The middleware runs itself — but the operational lift of keeping a donor-facing checkout up, tuned, and recovering failed charges is real. We absorb it.

99.9% uptime SLA

Monitored and on-call — we own the pager so your team does not.

Datadog RUM + APM

Real-user monitoring and application performance traces across every donor interaction. Alerts routed to our on-call rotation.

Session replay

Every checkout session is captured so we can diagnose drop-offs frame-by-frame and push fixes without you filing a ticket.

Frustration counter

Rage-clicks and dead-clicks are flagged per session. When a checkout element trips repeated frustration, we fix it.

Stripe Smart Retries + Account Updater

Failed recurring charges recovered automatically. Expired cards refreshed. Monthly donors stay donors without manual re-auth.

WordPress reader de-anonymization

Anonymous readers on your WordPress newsroom are matched to NPSP donor records by cookie, IP, and fingerprint. A reader who donates later gets their reading history attached to their donor profile.

Story-to-gift attribution

The last story a donor read before giving is written to the NPSP gift record. Drives "your gift funded this story" stewardship emails and grant reporting.

Foundry connection

Lapsed-donor anomalies, recurring-gift failures, and campaign pace surface in the Foundry Home Feed with recommended actions. No separate alerting tool.

501(c)(3) tax receipt automation

IRS-compliant PDF receipts issued at gift time and a consolidated year-end letter generated in January. All archived on the NPSP donor record.

AI impact emails

Quarterly "your impact" emails drafted from NPSP gift history + published story list, queued in SendGrid for staff approval before send.

Managed-tier pricing

Fully managed by RevenuePoint
$6,000
per newsroom / year

Includes hosting, 99.9% uptime SLA, Datadog observability, session replay, Stripe Smart Retries, AI-suggested ask amounts, recurring-donor retention, the full premium integration stack, upgrades, security patching, and your single point of contact at RevenuePoint. Billed annually.

Why we open-sourced it

Newsroom margins are thin. The code should not be the tax.

Nonprofit newsrooms already pay for NPSP, Stripe, a CRM administrator, and an email platform. They should not also pay a license fee for the checkout itself. So we published it under AGPL-3.0 — fork it, run it, modify it.

RevenuePoint charges for the operational lift: hosting, monitoring, premium integrations, dunning, and your single point of contact who owns the donor-facing checkout end-to-end. You decide which side of that line you want to be on.
